According to the December 2013 report of the British Aviation Manufacturing Magazine, in the just-concluded 2013 British Composites Engineering Exhibition, more than 200 composites-related exhibitors displayed the latest special materials, technologies, equipment and services, which supported the rapidly expanding British Composites design and processing industry. The Composites Engineering Show is the largest composites event ever in the UK, supported by leading industry partners across industries including: Composites UK, Net Composites, Composites UK, Composites Skills Alliance and more.

The 2013 show saw a record number of technology and strategy presentations, with key annual themes including composites, process and capability enhancement, digital engineering/simulation, A350XWB composite wings, next-generation composite manufacturing processes, AMSCI's second round of composites innovation clusters, best practices in composites, opportunities for global composites industry, etc.

The 2013 show also featured a range of composite innovations, including GKN's A350XWB carbon fiber wing rear spar section; Electric Flight's high-performance, battery-powered electric aircraft that combines the advantages of carbon fiber composite materials and construction methods ; P&M Aviation's PulsR tiny aircraft, using aerodynamic monocoque carbon fiber composite fuselage.
